[MCPENEWS] 0.9 Release Date


We all know that most Minecraft news comes from the developer’s Twitter accounts, but what about other sites? Believe it or not, Johan from Mojang has a Reddit account that he uses to respond to users on Pocket Edition-related subreddits. While browsing his comment history, I found something interesting that I have not seen elsewhere. On Reddit, he replied to a user asking if 0.9.0 would be out by the end of 2013, he said “Nope, planned for Q1 next year.”

In other words, Johan said that Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.9.0 will be released in the first quarter of next year. Technically speaking, the first tax quarter of 2014 (which is what Q1 means) starts on January 1st and ends on March 31st.

[MCPENEWS] Alpha Build 8 released






Alpha Build 8 addresses these features:

Tweaks
  • Improved Signs and Chests synchronization lag in multiplayer
  • Sand and Gravel now spawn resources when falling on torches, etc
Fixed Bugs
  • Fixed clients placing the wrong block type in multiplayer
  • Fixed double chests becoming unpaired
  • Added back hurt and fire color overlay for mobs
  • Fixed minecarts not being able to go all the way from bedrock to sea level (stopping at level 32)
  • The chest inventory now refreshes when two players change the content at the same time

[MCPENEWS] 0.8 Submitted :)





The 0.8 update has been submitted by Mojang to Apple. Mojang will submit the update to Google once it's released on Apple which will take 4 days to be reviewed by Apple (December 11-12)

[MCPENEWS] Alpha Build 7 released



Here are the things that Alpha Build 7 offers:

Tweaks
  • Moved Grey Wool in the right inventory slot
  • Ice is not transparent anymore in the toolbar
  • Wooden tools can now burn
  • Added UI message when boarding minecarts
  • Removed useless D-pad arrows when in minecarts
  • Powered Rails are powered in hand and in the inventory
  • AI performance improvements
Fixed Bugs
  • Fixed text input on Android
  • Fixed spruce and birch leaves being swapped
  • Fixed furnace side texture
  • Fixed sandstone slab side texture
  • Fixed red hurt overlay skeletons and chickens
  • Fixed an artifact over the flame in the Furnace Screen
  • Tnt doesn’t send you into orbit anymore
  • Fixed Armor slots having no health bar
  • Fixed autojumping while in minecarts
  • Fixed falling into the ground exiting a minecart that’s on rails
Known Bugs
  • No UI information about how to get out of minecarts
  • Not removing disconnected player correctly (known since 0.7)
  • Hearts now don't show if joining while animal is already in love
  • Minecarts end up in walls in a very specific rail configuration
  • There is no item pick up animation
  • TNT doesn't destroy some kinds of blocks, in some worlds

    There are still some bugs, which will be fixed in the final version of 0.8, before it can be submitted to Apple, Google, Amazon, etc.
